Grey Panthers

'Grey panthers' is the term used in the financial services sector to describe the experienced troubleshooters, who are sent into crisis-struck businesses. Their role is to track down the cause of the crisis and eliminate it, at its source.

Iodem Health has adopted the term as being particularly appropriate for the senior clinical practitioners and health service managers, whose expertise and specialist experience supplement the skills of its core team. Iodem Health has built up an exceptionally strong and diverse team of grey panthers, which it will proactively continue to develop and expand.

In addition to general attributes such as integrity, verbal and written communication skills and a clear understanding of confidentiality, equality and diversity, grey panthers must meet minimum specific criteria.

These include;-

• At least five years recent experience at consultant level (or equivalent) either in a medical or clinical discipline or at senior management level in an administrative capacity;
  
• At least two years' experience as an assessor, reviewer, examiner or auditor;
  
• A track record for applying the standards relevant to their specialities;
  
• A demonstrable understanding of risk management policies and procedures;
  
• Evidence of long standing clinical and professional integrity.

Grey panthers are integral to the approach to problem solving adopted by Iodem Health. The solutions which they put forward are effective because they are provided discretely by experts, who in addition to their clinical and managerial experience, have considerable political astuteness and sensitivity gained from many years experience of working in healthcare.
